RNLI BENEFIT NIGHT

The 35th annual benefit night and boat push in aid of Rosslare Lifeboat was held on Sunday, July 31. Locals and holiday makers in Morriscastle and Kilmuckridge dug deep this summer to raise funds for a deserving cause.

The fundraisers were delighted to report that the boat push and benefit night raised a whopping €11,500 which was up €2,500 on last year and the crew from Rosslare Lifeboat couldn’t believe it, said a spokesperson from the committee.

More than 20 people pushed the boat and collected with buckets from Kilmuckridge Village to Morriscastle where they were met by Rosslare Lifeboat and the crew who were brought ashore by Cahore Inshore Rescue Service to meet the crowds on the packed beach.

That night a benefit night was held in Hammels lounge and again the venue was packed. A huge thank you to all who helped out on the day, the boat pullers, ticket sellers, bucket collectors, stewards, to all who sponsored prizes for the auction and to Joe, Bridie and Peter Hammel and to Nicky and Frances.
