A.E.D. UNIT

An A.E.D. Unit was installed at O’Connors Garage in June of Last Year. At present 10 members of the community have been Trained to use this. This is a life saving device, which should be used with the intent it is meant for. Instructio­ns on how to access the device are located on the storage box, which will involve contacting the Ambulance Service, who have the code.

The Lights Committee encourage all members of the community to get CPR Training. If you require help, staff at the following locations have been trained to use this device: O’Connors Garage, Tina’s Hair Salon, The Ramble Inn, Goslins and Percival’s.

SPLIT-THE-POT

This week’s winner was Aaron Kavanagh, who won €307, next week’s draw will be in the Crossbar. Envelopes are available from all outlets in the community. The lights committee, would like to thank everyone who has support the draw to date.

FIELD DAY

Many thanks to everyone who helped out donated, sponsored prizes for our local field Day the total amount raised was €3,183.

The Developmen­t Associatio­n are currently looking for acts in the area to enter for Lip Sync Battle. If you’ve ever wanted to become the next Spice Girls, or perhaps always wanted to strut your stuff like Beyoncé contact 087 2127614 to sign up.

ST PATRICK’S GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot on Monday, August 22; winning numbers were 14, 18, 22 and 28. There was no matchthree winners so €200 was donated to the Autism Centre, Ballycanew.

WHIST DRIVE RESULTS

Results of Whist Drive held in hall on Friday night August 26: Gents first Colin Levinstone; second – Cyril Bryan ; Gents Half time Leslie Murphy; Ladies first Breda O’Connor; second N. Donegan and Mary Lee; Ladies Half Time – Margaret Roche.
