Convincing win for Gorey

-

GOREY WICKLOW 33 0 GOREY’S UNDER-14 squad finally got their season up and running with Wicklow being the visitors to Clonattin.

This was their first competitive fixture of the season following two weekends of games being called off.

Atrocious weather was the only downside with the entire fixture played in a downpour plus a strong wind.

The lads got into their stride straight away with Brian Cushe crossing the line within the first few minutes.

This score was added to with another from Brian plus tries by John Milne, Jack Curley and Rory Tubritt.

Conversions were kicked by Ewan Stephens and Lee Cushe, leaving the final score 33 to nil.

The full panel played their part with three players having their first outings in a Gorey jersey - Jaime Wizner, Ross Arnold and J.J. Twamley.

Ross O’Loughlin made a very welcome return also.

Thanks to our parents for providing refreshments - the hot soup was in high demand.

Best wishes to Aisling Fitzpatrick whom we hope to see back running the show soon.
