Tenby Golf Club from Wales visited on Monday for the now annual friendly match between Wexford and Tenby, with Wexford taking the honours. Our friends from Tenby wished Captain Paddy Cleary a quick recovery from his recent illness.

Wednesday’s open 14-hole fourball was won by Gary Lynch (5) and Neil Murphy (10) with 35 pointts on the back seven from Brian Morris (5) and John Quigley (17), also with 35 points and securing second on the back six.

The free sub competitio­n, run over three days, was won by Damien O’Reilly (14) with 63. Pat Murphy (12) was second with 67 on the back nine from Eamonn O’Connor (16) in third, also with 67.

John Walker (17) took fourth place on the back nine with 69. Micheál Doyle won gross with 76 while Willie Cleary (10) won the veterans with 69.

The winner of split the pot last week was Liam Keating who won €85.
