Rampant Rovers see off Bunclody

-

HOLDERS Shamrock Rovers hit Bunclody for six on Sunday as they showed they’re really in the mood to hold on to their league crown.

Emmet Quirke and Ricky Fox both bagged doubles, while Jamie Fox and Ricky Dwyer joined them on the scoresheet.

North End United also picked up three points by overcoming New Ross Celtic 4-1, with Gary Byrne scoring twice, Jason Byrne converting a free-kick and Deccie Downes adding to their tally. Eoin Rhodes got the goal for the visitors.

A Kenneth Byrne header gave Gorey Celtic the lead away to Rosslare Rangers, but the hosts grabbed an equaliser to earn a share of the spoils.

Moyne Rangers left it late to continue their winning run as they got out of jail against bottom side Campile United.

The visitors held a 1-0 advantage with just three minutes remaining, but James Peare grabbed the equaliser before Seán Kenny hit a late, late winner.

Courtown Hibs overcame Kilmore United in a high-scoring encounter, winning 6-3 thanks to doubles from Glen Hughes and Eugene O’Brien, with Leighton Gleeson and Colin O’Brien also getting in on the goalscoring act for the hosts.

Darren Naughton, Alan Colgate and David Millar got the goals for Kilmore. Adult fixtures Sunday, October 23 FAI Junior Cup third round in association with Umbro and Aviva: Highview Athletic v.
