Seaview share spoils with East End United

Women’s Premier Division

East End United 1 Seaview United 1: The only Premier game to survive the Saturday night rain saw Seaview travel to Bennettsbr­idge for their first league match of the season, and they came home with a well-earned point, the first points league leaders East End have dropped this season.

In a very evenly-contested match, both sides produced some excellent football despite the difficult weather although the pitch was in excellent condition. Méabh Kehoe gave Seaview a 1-0 lead but Laura Dooley scored in the second-half to secure a point Women’s Division 1 All Blacks 4, Kilmore United 1: The home side are joint top of the table after this 4-1 win over near neighbours Kilmore United. Katrina Parrock scored for the visitors but goals from Róisín Furlong (two), Eimear O’Brien and Emma Sinnott gave All Blacks victory.

Piltown F.C. 0, North End United 3: North End made it two wins from two games when they came away from Piltown 3-0 winners. Goals from Chloe Bates, Martina Pender and Diane Leniston gave the Wexford town side a very important three points. Women’s Division 2A

Camolin Celtic 0, Moyne Rangers 3: Moyne picked up their first win of the season when they travelled to Camolin and came away with all three points courtesy of this 3-0 win. Nicola Davitt scored one with Claudia Doyle adding two for a hard working Moyne side.

St. Leonards 6, New Ross Town 2: An understren­gth New Ross Town put up a brave battle before eventually going down to a strong St. Leonards side who move three points clear at the top of the table after this victory.

Sandra Murphy scored both goals for Town but goals from Niamh Browne (two), Eimear Gabbett (two), Fiona Ryan and Chloe Banville gave a youthful home side all three points. Women’s Division 2B

Bunclody A.F.C. 6, Seaview United ‘B’ 0: Bunclody made it two wins from two when they overcame a young Seaview side with six goals to spare. Britney Conroy continued her good scoring form with two while Alma Morris also grabbed two while Hayley Browne and Alex Weippert added a goal each. Women’s Division 3

Stoney L.F.C. 2, Fastnet Rovers 1: One of the pre-season favourites, Fastnet Rovers, have started the season poorly and have lost both their opening games. Lorraine Breen was on target for Rovers in this match but Stoney continued their good start to the season with goals from Karen Rochford and Chloe Foxe.

St. Cormac’s 3, Cushnstown A.F.C. 0: The home side made it two wins from two games with this win over previously unbeaten Cushinstow­n.
