Raffle winners on the night were Kathleen Carr, Mary McCarthy and Noel Carter. Student winner on the night were Ross Bailey. Whist continues on Wednesday night at 8.30 p.m.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Circuit training with Cathal is ongoing in Kilanerin Sports Centre on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. €5 per night. Contact Cathal at 086 0735398.

BADMINTON

Badminton continues on Monday 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday night 9.10 p.m. Children aged 10 plus are welcome on Monday nights eight to 9 p.m. parents may be asked to supervise.

FIREWOOD

Ballyfad Hall committee are holding a Firewood Auction on the October Bank holiday Monday at 1.30 p.m. Donations of firewood would be appreciate­d Contact Myles Carroll ar 086 0539069 or any committee member.

YOGALATES

Classes continue with Bernadette Colfer every Tuesday in Kilanerin Hall from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. suitable for all ages and level of fitness.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Old Kilnenor Historical Society was delighted to have Retired Major General Seán Brennan give a talk on his family and connection to the area and his extensive military life, with an insight to his participat­ion in the Irish Guard of Honour at John F Kennedy’s funeral. Thanks to Seán and his daughter Caoimhe for travelling from the Curragh and giving their time to share their stories.

THRESHING

Due to the success of last year’s Tuttys are going to hold a threshing on Sunday, October 23, at 2 p.m. in aid of Ballyfad NS and Inch Parish Church.

There will be a threshing and vintage display, bric-a-brac, Cake and Plant sale and a raffle on the day. There will also be refreshmen­ts served.

There will be a colouring competitio­n on the day for the kids with prizes for different age groups. There will also be a toy exhibition by Gavin Murray not to be missed. All support would be welcome and donations of cakes, bric-a-brac and prizes greatly appreciate­d.
