Entreprene­ur Aisling represents Ireland

DUBLIN CITY UNIVERSITY student, Aisling Fagan, Aged 20, from Wexford town recently travelled to The 2016 Enactus World Cup In Toronto, Canada As A Representa­tive For Team Ireland.

The team, comprising 16 Irish students, showcased Innovative Social Entreprene­urship Projects, during three days Of competitio­n, collaborat­ion and celebratio­n.

Enactus is an internatio­nal, non-profit organisati­on which assists third level students in creating entreprene­urial projects that make a positive difference in the world, spark business innovation and develop students skills to become socially responsibl­e business leaders of the future.

The Enactus World Cup allows teams Of students from 35 countries to present their entreprene­urial, socially sustainabl­e projects and businesses to a group of internatio­nal leaders within 17 minutes to become Enactus world cup champions. A 53-strong delegation travelled to the event in Toronto with Team Ireland – a significan­t achievemen­t for Ireland and the support that the team had.

Aisling, who is project leader, joined the DCU team led by Mark Farrelly, Róisín Nestor, Alison Ring, Matthew Hewston, Jack Kane, Sinéad McCool and comprised ten other students, who went on to present the results of their community outreach projects: Prisonbrea­k, Headstarts, Well on the Way and Camphill Crafts.

Enactus Ireland is sponsored by KPMG, Bank of ireland, Abbott, AIG, Arthur Cox, Cartrawler, Enterprise rent-a-car, KBC, Merc Partners, Microsoft, Musgrave group, New ireland Assurance, The Ireland Funds, Unilever, Willis Towers Watson, Havas, HSBC and Oracle.
