PARTY TIME AT NEW-LOOK JAMES TOMKINS MOTORS

- FINTAN LAMBE

OVER 500 people packed into the brand new Suzuki showroom at James Tomkins Motors at The Monument in Gorey last Friday night to celebrate the official opening of the new showroom and workshop, and to celebrate the 21st anniversary of James Tomkins Motors.

‘ There was an excellent turnout,’ said a delighted Catriona Tomkins, adding that they were particularly delighted to see so many past customers there on the evening. One couple and their daughter even travelled from Thurles to be there on the evening.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the new Suzuki S- Cross, and the company was well represented by speakers, as well as the now-retired former MD of Suzuki Ireland Niall O’Gorman and former head of sales Seamus Sarsfield, also now retired.

The honour of cutting the ribbon on the new premises went to Catriona’s mother Mary Sheridan, while Canon Mark Hayden performed a blessing. A minute’s silence was also held for recently deceased Munster rugby head coach Anthony Foley, and a book of condolence was opened.

Congratulations went to Eileen Whelan who won €1,000 in G-Vouchers following a four day South East Radio competition.

The assembled guests also heard from Pat Doyle of Doyles Garage in Courtown, where James worked before setting up on his own. James also spoke, thanking all for their continued support.
