Adamstown are tops in goal-fest

Adamstown came out on top in a real goal-fest on Sunday as they ran out 7-4 winners away to bottom side Gorey Rangers.

It was the sort of scoreline that would give defensive coaches nightmares, with Tony Turner and Liam Moore both netting doubles for Adamstown and Ian White, Conor Hickey and Shane Bradley also getting in on the act. Rangers also managed to make their mark going forward, with Eoin Kinsella, Stephen Hempenstall, Columb Sheridan and James Lynch all hitting the back of the net.

Fastnet Rovers were 3-0 winners in Crossabeg, with Kevin Walsh, Kevin Hannigan (penalty) and Shane Cassidy getting the goals.

Table-toppers Moyne Rangers were held to a 3-3 draw by Stoney Rovers, with Glen Buckley, Daithí O’Mahoney and Timmy Dwyer scoring for the Enniscorthy side, and Paul Curtis (two) and Cathal Murphy replying for Stoney. Shelburne leapfrogged North End United into second spot thanks to a 1-0 win over the town side, while Wexford Celtic won 4-0 away to Ajax Athletic, with Seán Carmody converting two penalties and Stuart Hayden and captain Cian Doyle adding a goal apiece.

Cloughbawn moved three points clear at the top of Division 2A after overcoming Enniscorthy Town 4-1 on Sunday.

Pádraig Loughlin helped himself to a double, with Adrian Stachon and William Murphy also hitting the net for the leaders. Dylan Redmond bagged a hat-trick for North End as they beat second-placed Rosslare Strand 3-1, with Richard O’Reilly replying for the seasiders.

Aaron Corish netted twice for Rosslare Port, with Seán Byrne adding their other goal as they drew 3-3 with Duncannon.

Forth Celtic picked up three points thanks to a 4-1 win over Fethard Rangers, while Killenagh won 3-2 in Rathnure.

Bunclody made it a maginificent seven wins from seven games as they edged out Ballymurn on Sunday.

The pacesetters didn’t hit the free-scoring heights that they have in recent games, but a goal from Dion Dunne was enough to pick up another three points.

Bree United moved into second spot after overcoming Ferns United by the odd goal in seven, with Noel Roche (two), Dylan Dalton and Philip Walsh getting on the scoresheet for the winners. Alan Quigley steered home a Conor Heffernan cross to earn Oylegate the points against Enniscorthy United, while New Ross Celtic and Raheen played out a 0-0 stalemate. Wexford Albion continued their perfect start to the season when seeing off Courtown Hibs 4-1 on Sunday. Elliott Malone added another two goals to his impressive personal tally, while Pierce Dooley and Kyle Mahon also hit the back of the net.

Barry Ryan and Brian Lawlor got the goals for Rosbercon as they won 2-0 in Campile, while Bridge Rovers overwhelmed Wexford Celtic 5-0 with goals from Andy Doyle, Dan Murpy (two), Gary Sutton and Mark Walsh. Goals from Arnie Murphy, Kerill Sutton and John Redmond saw Curracloe edge out Shelburne by the odd goal in five, with Enda Kelly and Patrick Flynn replying.

Shane Mernagh grabbed the goal for Castledockrell as they drew 1-1 with Camolin.

Leaders Crossabeg pocketed another three points on Sunday as they registered a 4-1 win against an out of sorts Corach Ramblers outfit.

Conor Gormley, Conor Kelly (two) and Eamon Kelly got the goals for the pacesetters, with Jon Reville replying for Ramblers.

All Blacks stormed to an impressive 4-1 win over Moyne Rangers, with David Moore bagging a double and Shane Sinnott and Aaron Wright-Power grabbing their other goals.

Shane Brady and Tyrone O’Reilly (two) got the goals for Rosslare Rangers as they edged out St. Leonards 3-2, while Craig Kelly and Chris Downes were the scorers for Wexford Bohs in their 2-0 win over Gorey Celtic.

St. Joseph’s and Cloughbawn came away with a point apiece from their top of the table clash on Sunday. Shane Dohery and Rory O’Connor, who was making his debut, got the goals for the Kilmuckridge outfit, with Tomás Kehoe and Paul Lambert replying for Cloughbawn.

A goal from Michael Clinton was enough to earn Shamrock Rovers the three points away to Rosslare Port. Seán Ring, Jason Kearns and Tommy Lawlor got the goals for Bree United as they drew 3-3 with Ajax Athletic, while Tombrack certainly had their shooting boots on as they crushed Enniscorthy Town 7-1.

Castledockrell moved in to second spot in Division 5 after a convincing win in Camolin on Sunday. The visitors chalked up a 3-0 triumph, with goals from Colm Bennett, Murt Hendrick and Paddy Kavanagh.

Wexford Albion proved much too good for Ballymurn in the top of the table clash, winning 4-0 (see focus match).

Caim United and St. Cormac’s picked up a point apiece after a 1-1 draw with Caim scoring through an own goal and Cormac Finn replying for the saints. Killenagh collected three points thanks to a 4-0 win over Duncannon.
