SPLIT THE POT

On October 14 the prize of €237 was won by Jackie Howard from Camolin, a regular at the bingo. Congratula­tions, Jackie. The co-ordinating team for Friday, October 28, is Team 5: Catherine Doyle, Mary Doyle and Elizabeth Kenny.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATIO­N

Craanford National School parents’ associatio­n AGM will be held on Monday, November 7, in Craanford Community centre at 8.30 p.m.

BADMINTON CLUB

The Monaseed Badminton Club AGM was held recently and the following members were elected for the year 2016/2017: Chairman: Peter Wadding Snr. Secretary: Rachel Doyle. Treasurer: Chris Montague. PRO: Natasha Smyth. County Rep: Anthony Wadding.

The club continues for junior members in second class and upwards (8 years and over) Mon and Wed evenings 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a fee of €2 per child. Enrolment fees are as per last year: First and second child in family €30, all further children €20.

Training for the adult members is every Monday at 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a fee of €3 per adult. Membership remains the same as last year at €50 for any member over 18 years. All new members are welcome to join. Any member from last year who still has yet to receive their T-shirt, please see Natasha.

STRICTLY DANCING

Under the guidance of Tara Anne Byrne dancers James Hempenstal­l and Emma Ryan, Michael Doyle and Sorcha Kenny, Ollie Doran and Lorraine Doyle, Hugh Kenny and Michaela Smyth, Patrick Kavanagh and Catriona Graham, Ciaran Kenny and Louise Redmond, Tom McCormack and Mary Louise Doyle, Paddy Doyle and Molly Tobin, Derek and Siobhán Finn entertaine­d to the delight of a wonderful crowd and five couples now progress to the final against Clonee on bank holiday Sunday, October 30, in the Amber Springs Hotel.
