FILM

THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN 2, RTE 2, THURSDAY 9.30PM

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a 2014 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb and released by Columbia Pictures.

Andrew Garfield returns as Peter Parker and his titular webbed hero. It is enlivened by the chemistry between the unlikely superhero and his gusty girlfriend, Gwen Stacey. Pitted against him is Jamie Foxx’s Electro and the Green Goblin.

The film stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin / Harry Osborn, Campbell Scott and Embeth Davidtz as Peter’s parents, and Sally Field as Aunt May, with the addition of a new cast including Paul Giamatti as Rhino / Aleksei Sytsevich and Jamie Foxx as Electro / Max Dillon.

As the very impressive second season of The Missing continues, Alice is upset by an argument between her parents and begs her brother Matthews to help ensure her safety.

In Iraq, Julien Baptiste finally comes face to face with the British soldier he’s been searching for, while back to Germany, Gemma uncoversa vital clue as she tries to find out exactly what happened to her daughter. With Keeley Hawes and Abigail Hardingham.

It has been an emotional time for Irish rugby following the tragic and unexpected death of Munster coach and former player, Anthony Foley.

His beloved team did him proud last Saturday both on and off the field with a remarkable victory over Glasgow after emotional tribute’s and a minute’s silence before the action.

On Friday night Munster travel to Ulster for the seventh round of PRO12 fixtures, which took place at Royal Dublin Society.

Both teams had victories in last weekend’s European Cup action so there is a lot at stake. Presented by Maire Treasa Ni Dhubhghail­l.

BEAR GRYLLS: MISSION SURVIVE, UTV IRELAND, WEDNESDAY 10.30PM The celebritie­s move from the African bush to the coastal forest, where they must learn how to adapt to their new surroundin­gs. Bear surprises the survivors by revealing they are camped only 30 feet away from three elephants - but their delight turns to disgust when they learn their first task - how to extract drinking fluid from the animals’ dung to ensure survival in dire situations. They are then tasked with their first mission - to cross a canyon with a thumping waterfall and strong fast flowing water. As they bed down later, the mood within camp is strained and arguments begin.
