Women’s Divisional Shield second round

Fastnet Rovers 0, Camolin Celtic 5: Camolin progressed to a quarter-final meeting away to St. Leonards when they came away from Fastnet Rovers 5-0 winners.

Megan Murray scored twice with Niamh O’Leary, Katie Kehoe and Aoife Curran all getting their names on the scoresheet. Women’s Divisional Shield quarter-finals

Cloughbawn A.F.C. 4, Moyne Rangers 0: The home side are looking unstoppable at present and booked their place in the semi-finals of the Shield with a 4-0 win over Moyne Rangers.

Gina Foley scored twice with Tina Cullen and Tracey Martin also finding the net.

Bunclody A.F.C. 10, Shelburne A.F.C. 0: A gallant effort from Shelburne was not enough against a home side which finished clinically in front of goal and reached double figures to go through to the semi-finals. Nicole Fortune (five), Britney Conroy (three) and Alma Morris (two) made up the tally for Bunclody.

Courtown Hibs 2, St. Joseph’s 4: St. Joseph’s are through to the last four of the Shield but had to work very hard against a determined Courtown Hibs side.

Lauren Ramsey scored both goals for the home side but a player of the match performance from Michelle Gahan saw her score a hat-trick with Tracey McCormack also finding the net. Women’s Premier Division Ferns United 7, Curracloe United 2: Ferns have moved up to second in the division after this 7-2 win over a youthful Curracloe side.

Natasha Byrne and Clara Donnelly were on target for the visitors but five goals from the experienced Liz Evered plus one each from Leona Breen and Georgina Moore gave Ferns the three points. Curracloe ’keeper Sadbh McCarthy topped off a great performance by saving two penalties.

Adamstown v. Benfica L.F.C.: Adamstown received an easier than expected three points when Benfica, for the first time in the history of the club, were unable to get enough players to field a team. Women’s Division 1

All Blacks 0, North End United 3: North End installed themselves as firm favourites to win the Division 1 title when they came away from All Blacks with all three points.

Goals from Martina Pender, Kim Walker and the experienced Diane Leniston saw the Wexford town side come away from Mayglass 3-0 winners.

Bree United 2, Corach Ramblers 2: These two sides cancelled each other out in this 2-2 draw, a result that leaves both in a bunch in the lower half of the table.

Amy Long and Oilbhe Raftery were on target for Bree while Sara Byrne and Natasha Walsh replied for Ramblers.

Piltown F.C. 4, Kilmore United 4: The home side must have thought they had the three points wrapped up in this game when they led 4-1 with 15 minutes remaining.

However, Kilmore showed great spirit and determination to battle back for a point with three late goals.

Emily McCarthy and Eilis Cooney scored two each for Piltown while Becky Furlong (two), Cora Miller and Chloe Troy were on target for Kilmore. Women’s Division 2A

New Ross Town 4, St. Leonards 5: St. Leonards moved joint top of the table after they came out on top by the odd goal in this nine-goal thriller.

Jenny Delaney, Ann Carroll, Sandra Murphy and Linda Kelly were all on target for Town while Fiona Ryan (three) and Eimear Gabbett (two) scored to give the visitors an important three points. Women’s Division 2B

Rosslare Rangers 2, Wexford Bohs 0: Rangers moved into second place in the division after they eventually broke down a determined and hard-working Wexford Bohs side.

Clodagh Cousins and Robin Brennan scored the vital goals that gave Rangers their fourth win of the season. Women’s Division 3

Stoney L.F.C. 4 St. Cormac’s 0: Chloe Foxe scored four goals for the second week in a row as Stoney L.F.C. overcame St. Cormac’s 4-0, a win that leaves them three points clear at the top of the division.

Bridge Rovers 0, Tombrack United 5: Tombrack moved into second place in the table after they eventually proved too strong for a battling Bridge Rovers side.

A Sarah Merrigan hat-trick, a goal from Mary Boland and a well-struck Tia Byrne free-kick saw Tombrack come away from The Bogside 5-0 victors.
