-

THE REMEDY CLUB return to their home county for a special and intimate acoustic gig in the Wexford Arts Centre on Friday with a new batch of songs from their latest recording. The band which comprises actress and singer Aileen Mythen and her husband musician Kj McEvoy, who were previously known as B and the Honeyboy.

Aileen is known for her powerful and soulful voice, which provides a perfect accompaniment to Kj’s gritty and spine tingling guitar sounds. They have been described as a harmony heavy alternative country folk duo and released and toured their first two albums under the previous name ‘B & The Honeyboy’ throughout Germany, England and France.

Having decided to change their name to The Remedy Club, the duo are soon to release their new album tentatively titled ‘Lovers, Legends and Lost Causes.’

The new offering weaves together threads of country, folk, soul and blues, paying homage to legends such as Tom Waits, Hank Williams and gypsy-Jazz musician Django Reinhardt and their combination of delicious harmonies, virtuoso guitar and honest, mature and imaginative songwriting create a contemporary Americana sound that is fresh and authentic.

The show starts at 8.30pm and tickets are €12 and can be purchased online at wexfordartscentre.ie or call 053 9123764.
