Dean’s Rocky Dee puts in a superb performance

THE MAIN attraction at Enniscorthy Dog Track on Thursday was the first round of the Friday night racing open unraced stake.

However, the best run and the biggest cheer of the night came in the very last race, a good A2 contest, when Dean O Leary’s Rocky Dee Rocket put in a superb performance when racing from trap six. Returning from a long break, he powered to the lead down the back straight and ran on strongly to beat Coyote Sea in a fast time of 28.89 to make it six wins from twelve runs to the delight of his young owner.

There were four first round unraced heats and a very impressive run from another trap six runner in heat four when the Philip Lynch-owned Toker Creek put in a fine effort when setting off in hot pursuit of the fast-breaking leader and red-hot favourite Station Line down the back stretch before outstaying the latter on the run to the line to get the verdict by a head in a good 29.28. Enniscorthy will go to one night a week in December and will change to Friday nights only.
