A coffee morning and raffle in aid of the NWSPCA will be held in the May Byrne Trust House, Coolgreany, on Friday, December 2.

The NWSPCA was set up in 1947 by a group of volunteers who saw the need to help stray and unwanted animals. It is with the goodwill and dedication of all volunteers, some of whom come from Coolgreany, that the society is still going strong. In the past year, a total of 306 puppies and dogs, and 375 kittens and cats have been rehomed.

Please come along and help us raise much needed funds that could save countless animals from lives of suffering.

GAA BINGO

Christmas Bingo takes place at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 2, in the Castletown Liam Mellows GAA clubhouse at Tomnahealy. Come along for a social and fun night to get into the Christmas Spirit – free admission.

BEARNA CHLÉ SCHOOL

Christmas Family Fun Day at St Patrick’s National School, Bearna Chlé, Johnstown on Sunday, December 4, from 11 a.m. On the day there will be music, home baking, handmade crafts, wreaths, bbq delights, tea or coffee and mince pies, face painting, nail art, pottery making, games and lots more. There are fantastic prizes for our Christmas raffle and you can enjoy a compliment­ary glass of mulled wine.

FLOWER DEMONSTRAT­IONA

Gala Flower demonstrat­ion ‘The Holly, The Ivy and Some Bling’ by Margaret Woodbyrne takes place in the Shamrock Hall Kilanerin on Thursday, Decem- ber 8, at 8 p.m. Admission €10 which will include light refreshmen­ts.

All exhibits will be raffled. All proceeds go to help fund the Tour buses for Kilanerin National School.

BADMINTON

Badminton continues in the Community Centre on Monday and Thursday night 9.10 p.m.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Circuit training with Cathal is on in the Sports Centre Kilanerin on Monday and Wednesday 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. All levels of fitness welcome.

Yogalates with Bernadette continues in Kilanerin Hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night Cost is €5 per night Suitable for all ages and level of fitness.

Preparatio­ns are being made to go to the Pavilion Theatre to see ‘Minding Frankie’ by Maeve Binchy the Christmas party is set for December 10 in the Lavender Farm.
