The Ladies’ team lost out to Tombrack by 0-2 on Sunday last despite putting on a great team performanc­e. Tombrack can count themselves lucky that they did not have to share the points as our ladies struck the post at least twice. Michelle D’arcy was the player of the match.

Monageer-Boolavogue’s Coiste na nÓg are organising a special split-the-pot fundraiser for the Christmas season, called ‘Festive Fivers’. The total amount raised will be split between one lucky winner and Coiste na nÓg. Last year’s lucky winner receive more that €1,000. Special ‘Festive Fiver’ envelopes are available in local businesses and Coiste na nÓg committee members and coaches. The prize will be drawn on Sunday, December 18, in the Monageer Tavern at 9 p.m., nicely timed for Christmas.

Ferns camogie club’s annual Christmas Draw will take place on Sunday, December 11, in Ferns Community Centre, following a children’s Christmas disco from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free admission to disco. Tickets for the draw are currently on sale from any club member or on the night.

FIRST RESPONDER GROUP

This new group is delighted to announce that they will be linked with the National Ambulance Service from next Thursday, December 1. They offer their thanks to everyone who helped them get up and running. They say that, to help them in an emergency it is important that people know their Eircode and so can direct the Responder Ambulance to their precise location of the emergency. The Eircode is the Postal Code for your house.
