A BIGGER AND BETTER ‘WEXFORD HAS TALENT’

ORGANISERS of the hugely successful ‘Wexford Has Talent’ have announced the details for the 2017 competitio­n, which they say, will be ‘ bigger and better’.

The team of 30 volunteers behind the countywide talent competitio­n last week revealed a bigger prize fund than before and also the dates for the hotly-anticipate­d auditions.

Two days of auditions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, January 7 and 8, at Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford town and would-be contestant­s are now invited to pre-book their free audition spot online on www.wexfordhas­talent.com.

Alternativ­ely anyone wishing to take part can also attend the audition weekend without a pre-booking and take a place in the queue.

Event organiser Killian Duignan, chairman of the Sarsfields club, said the last two years have seen some incredible performanc­es showcased right from the very beginning on Wexford Has Talent, with the first year’s winners the band ‘Fit For Kings’ going on to release hit singles and last year’s winner Tara Doyle-Robinson ranking in the world’s top 20 in acrobatic gymnastics.

‘We know the 2017 competitio­n is going to be an incredible one,’ he said. ‘All of the acts will be judged by a panel of independen­t judges and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone along to the auditions, from junior competitor­s to the not so young and even canines, if they have got a skill to show off.’

The winners of the Wexford Has Talent competitio­n 2017 will walk away with a €2,000 prize and, for the first time, two new additional prizes of €500 have been added to the prize pot.

Following the auditions, those qualifying will will be notified of a place either at the semi final on January 14 or the semi on January 21, where they will perform in front of a live audience and a panel of judges.

The finalists from each of these events will qualify for the grand final, which takes place on February 11.

The 2017 Wexford Has Talent competitio­n is set to be top of the entertainm­ent calendar with celebrity judges set to take talent through auditions to a live final.
