THERE was a great turnout at the CD launch of Silver Lining in Naomh Eanna recently.

The CD by Gorey native Aoife Parle is in aid of Temple Street Hospital and is dedicated to Aoife’s friend Garda David Bolger who was killed in a car crash in December 2015.

Aoife, who is the Tesco Area Community Champion based in Gorey, was in a position to be able to record the CD having won Tesco’s annual emploee talent competition, Tesco’s Got Talent. Using her studio prize Aoife recorded the CD for Tesco Ireland’s charity partner, Temple Steet.

The single is currently available to buy in all 148 Tesco stores across Ireland for €2 and is also now available for 99c to download via iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. All proceeds from this single will go directly to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

Speaking about her inspiration for ‘Silver Lining’ Aoife said: ‘I took my inspiration from the little heroes in Temple Street - they are so brave and resilient. The atmosphere in the hospital is so warm and full of support. Silver Lining is about celebrating hope and that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.’

Aoife’s role as Tesco Area Commu- nity Champion gives her a unique insight into the real difference charitable organisations make across the country. Aoife’s job connects her with local communities across the South East and hundreds of local good causes through the Tesco Community Fund, FoodCloud and fundraising for Temple Street. After winning Tesco’s annual colleague talent competition in 2015, Aoife was determined to make a difference with the prize of studio recording time.

‘ Temple Street has some of the best doctors and nurses in the world but it needs on-going fundraising support to ensure it continues to offer specialist facilities and lifesaving equipment.

‘When I won Tesco’s Got Talent, I decided to use the prize of recording time in studio to help Temple Streets’ fundraising efforts. I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received locally in Wexford and especially from my Tesco colleagues across the country. I would like to thank Tesco for giving me the opportunity to achieve my dream of releasing a single. I would encourage everyone to continue to support the work of Temple Street by picking up this CD, every little really does help.’
