‘WHO’S GOT TALENT’

Heat 1 of ‘Who’s Got Talent’ takes place on this Saturday night, December 10, at 8 p.m. Heat 2 is on January 6, and Heat 3 is January 7. The Grand Final is on Saturday, January 21. The Christmas Variety Show will take place on Friday, December 15, in Bree Community Centre. Tickets are available at the door. Adults €7, Children under-10 €2, Children over 10 €4. All support will be greatly appreciate­d.

Bree AC athletes competed well in the Juvenile Winter League of Friday last. Results were as follows Girls U8 Lea Bolger 1st, Erin Ryan 7th; U9 Ciara Laffan 1st, Chloe Casey 4th, Maura Doyle 5th: U10 Katie Doyle 1st: U11 Abbie Doyle 1st: Boys U8 Jayden Kenny 1st, Jack Doyle 7th, Billy Doyle 14th: U9 Cian Donovan 2nd, Conn Frazer 3rd, Oisin Harte 17th: U13 Conor Doyle 2nd. Best wishes in Round 2 in the Hub, Enniscorth­y this Friday night at 7pm. Please note parking is in the Rugby Club.

The Bree AC annual awards presentati­ons took place on Thursday last. Award winners are Aoife Cloke Rochford (Athlete of the Year), Seán Rowley (John Godkin under-13 Award), Gracie Kehoe (Bree ICA Award), Shane Doran (Peter Byrne Award), Elaine McCabe (Pat O’Leary Award), Sophie McCabe (Tony Greene Award), Katie Whelan (Paul Kehoe Award) and Abbie Doyle (Special Merit Award).

Registrati­on for Bree AC for 2017 will take place at training on this Thursday December 8 and again on Thursday the 15th from 7.15 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. during indoor training times. Indoor training finishes on Thursday, 15th for the Christmas season and resumes again on January 12.

BREE MACRA NEWS

Congratula­tions to the team of Sarah Doyle, Aine Doyle and William Spratt Murphy who were runners-up in the national final of the Public Speaking last weekend in Tullamore. Their topic was ‘Children’s Toys should be gender neutral’. As well as receiving the runners-up trophies, Sarah received a silver salver as best public speaker of the night.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The collection in aid of St Vincent De Paul took place at all Churches through out the diocese last weekend. All support for this worthy cause was greatly appreciate­d.
