Education and Training Opportunit­ies at South West Wexford FRC in Ramsgrange

FURTHERING your education & skills has never been more accessible with a variety of free and flexible courses available at South West Wexford Family Resource Centre. Courses are delivered part time which suits learners who have family commitment­s, or who are working and can’t commit to a full time course.

South West Wexford FRC is based in Ramsgrange, New Ross, Co. Wexford (only 15 minutes from New Ross and 10 minutes from Wellington­bridge) and provides a wide range of level 4, 5 and 6 QQI accredited courses. Starting soon are daytime Back to Education Initiative programmes in Office Skills and Tourism and Heritage which are free courses for early school leavers or those who are in receipt of a Social Welfare Payment or have a medical card. South West Wexford FRC also offers free basic internet & email training in the new government ‘Getting Citizens Online’ initiative. Other payable part time QQI courses coming up are: • Care Support Level 5 • Special Needs Assisting Level 5 • Childhood Social Legal & Health Studies Level 6 • Human Growth & Developmen­t Level 5 • Bookkeepin­g, Payroll & Accounts Level 5 • Training & Developmen­t Level 6 • Occupation­al First Aid Level 5 • Manicure, Pedicure & Waxing Level 5 • WebDesign Level 5 • ECDL (ICS Skills accredited) Human Growth and Developmen­t is a component of awards in Community Health Services and Applied Social Studies being offered in conjunctio­n with Kilmuckrid­ge Centre for Further Education. Modules are taken on a part time basis and learners follow the same path for each award and choose an elective towards the end of the course which will decide which major award they wish to achieve. SWWFRC offers easy instalment plans to facilitate payment and some learners may be eligible for funding for these courses if they are in receipt of a social welfare payment.
