O’Brien bags four goals for St. Joseph’s
PA O’Brien was the main man for St. Joseph’s B as they booked their place in the second round of the Gwyn Jones Cup.
O’Brien netted all four goals for his side as they edged out Camolin Celtic B by the odd goal in seven.
Crossabeg B overcame Carne FC 5-4 after extra-time thanks to a hat-trick from John Donovan and goals from Theo Doyle and Conor Keeling. Paul Nolan (two) and Derek Kearns got the goals for Ajax Athletic B as they beat Duncannon 3-1, while Tombrack B beat Rosslare Rangers 2-0.
Wexford Albion B renewed rivalries with Ballymurn B and came out on top 2-1, with T.J. Cousins and Mark Browne scoring for the town side.
Bree United B chalked up a 5-1 win away to Enniscorthy United B thanks to a Dean Doyle hat-trick and goals from Shane Jordan and Darragh Byrne, while Jamie Cahill (two), Darren Hayden and Anthony Roche earned Taghmon United B a 4-0 win away to St. Leonards B.
Dillon Kenny netted a hat-trick for Gorey Celtic B as they saw off Killenagh B 6-0, with Dillon Connolly, Colm Stafford and Conor Travers adding their other goals.
Colin Sheehan plundered the only goal of the game as Shamrock Rovers C beat Cushinstown B, while Wexford Bohs B overcame St. Cormac’s B 5-1 with goals from Craig Kelly (two), Chris Downes, Jesse Kells and Andy Lehane.
Fresh from being crowned Division 4A champions, Cloughbawn B continued their impressive form in the cup, seeing off Caim United B 5-0 with a Kevin Murphy hat-trick, a Paddy Lambert penalty and a Peter Furlong strike. Shane Sinnott helped himself to a treble for All Blacks as they won 4-0 away to Rosslare Port B, with Mark Doyle grabbing their other goal. A Jason Kirwan strike was enough for Moyne Rangers C to beat Enniscorthy Town B, while Stoney Rovers B edged out Castledockrell B 2-1.
