MUSICIANS JOIN UP FOR

THREE Wexford-based artists, Paula Cox, Paul Creane and The Man Whom, are undertakin­g a nationwide collaborat­ive tour of Ireland to promote their singles ‘Let’s Play A Game’, ‘I Need Your Here To Love Me’ and ‘Four Hurdles’.

The ‘3 Will Tour’ presented by Merakindie is taking a different approach, supporting local independen­tly run businesses in a spirit of community and venturing occasional­ly into venues such as The Happy Pear in Greystones, County Wicklow and Carousel Vintage Clothes Shop in Cork.

The three acts kicked off in Cleere’s Theatre in Kilkenny on March 3 and will play a total of 18 dates, finishing in Murphy’s Barn, Wexford on April 18 and taking in The Cotton Tree Cafe in Enniscorth­y this Thursday, March 9 at 7.30 pm. They will sing and play each other’s material.

‘ The tour is all about community and collaborat­ion. By doing things this way, we want to shine a positive light on independen­t Ireland,’ said tour manager Emma Kelly.

Paula Cox is a vocalist and songwriter who was lead singer in The Bush, The Tree & Me when she was only 14. The band signed to Epic in 2000 and recorded their first album with producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur). Following her move to Ireland, she has performed and recorded with Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Cathy Davey, Pierce Turner and The Frames. Her solo album, to be released in 2017, will be mixed by Cenzo Townsend (Florence and the Machine, Snow Patrol). The stunning first track ‘Let’s Play a Game’ is out now.

Paul Creane is a Wexford songwriter who has released two albums with The Changing Band, Tommy Black & the Twelve Days of Lucy and The Clock and has toured worldwide. His new single ‘I Need You Here to Love Me’ features in the movie Staid. His third solo album One Trick
