Adamstown through after thrilling encounter

St. Joseph’s 2, Adamstown 4 (AET): These sides played out a thrilling cup tie that had to go to extra-time before Adamstown booked their place in the last four where they will meet Ballindagg­in.

Goals from Karlina Jaglarz and Sinéad Roche had Adamstown 2-0 up, but two goals from Rita Redmond brought the sides level into extra-time where goals from Méabh Wickham and Ashling O’Dowd saw Adamstown through.

Forth Celtic 3, Tombrack United 2: A strong first-half performanc­e from Celtic saw them go 3-0 up, and although Tombrack came back strongly in the second-half, Forth held on to go through to a semi-final meeting with All Blacks.

Grace Roche, Vicky Breen and Sarah Carroll were on target for the home side while Aoibhe McSweeney and Amy Tobin-Cosgrave scored for Tombrack who pressed hard for an equaliser but could not break down the Forth Celtic defence.

Curracloe United 2, All Blacks 3: All Blacks eventually overcame a determined Curracloe side to go through to a last four meeting with near neighbours Forth Celtic.

Aoife Houghton gave the visitors the lead but the home side levelled before Seren Ward scored just before half-time to restore All Blacks’ lead. Curracloe levelled for the second time early in the second-half but Seren Ward scored again ten minutes from time to put her side into the semi-finals.

Ballindagg­in FC 6, Shelburne FC 0: Ballindagg­in proved too strong for Shelburne and round- ed off a good day for the club by booking their place in the last four.

Orlagh Kehoe was in top scoring form by knocking in four while Laoise Kearney and Carla Cloney also got their names on the scoresheet.

Rosslare Strand 5, Arklow Town 6: These sides played out an eleven-goal thriller before Arklow eventually made the long journey home with the three points that moves them joint second in the table.
