Marsden’s double sends Moyne to top

Premier Division

Moyne Rangers moved to the top of the Premier Division table after coming from behind to see off Bunclody on Sunday.

Shane Franklin fired Bunclody in front but a Peter Marsden penalty drew the Enniscorth­y side level before the break.

Marsden then plundered a second goal after the interval to earn Moyne the three points.

New Ross Celtic had too much firepower for Campile United on Friday night, winning 6-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Eoin Rhodes, a double from Dylan Wickham, and an Eoin Kennedy goal. Division 1

Tombrack and Ferns had to settle for a point apiece after playing out a scoreless stalemate in a tight Division 1 derby on Sunday.

There was no shortage of goals in the other games though, with St. Leonards running out 6-2 winners away to Wexford Bohs and St. Cormac’s overcoming bottom side Taghmon United 4-1.

Seán Ryan bagged a hat-trick for St. Leonards, with Páraic Conway, Donal Kiely and Mark Rossiter getting their other goals and Darragh Goodison and Todd Hynes replying for Bohs.

Taghmon took the lead against St. Cormac’s but a Michael Sweeney penalty drew the saints level, and they took control with Jimmy Sweeney, Ian Devlin and Jamie Doyle all hitting the net. Division 2

Shelburne took a big step towards securing the Division 2 title with a resounding home win over Adamstown on Sunday.

The hosts ran out 5-0 winners with goals from Chris Connick, Denis Murray, Jamie O’Dowd and Rob Kehoe (two).

Second-placed Moyne Rangers suffered a setback, losing 2-1 at home to Fastnet Rovers. Joshua O’Byrne gave the hosts the lead before seeing his penalty saved, and Rovers took full advantage of the let-off with a Shane Cassidy double earning them the points.

North End United leapfrogge­d Wexford Celtic into third place by overcoming their local rivals 3-1 with goals from Daryl Power, Ayman Yousif and Brandon Sinnott.

Stoney Rovers comfortabl­y saw off the challenge of Shamrock Rovers, winning 3-0 thanks to a double from Cathal Murphy and a Shane Kilkenny strike.

Crossabeg edged out Ajax 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller with goals from Andy Butler (two), Mark O’Connor and Conor Maddock, with Darren Morrissey, John Whelan and Graham Donohoe replying for the Enniscorth­y outfit. Division 2A

Cloughbawn edged ever-closer to the Division 2A title with a 3-1 win over North End United on Sunday.

James Dempsey, Martin Kehoe and Willie Murphy scored for the league leaders, with Ciarán Carty replying for North End.

New Ross Town kept their slim title hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Forth Celtic, with Stephen O’Leary getting the all-important goal. Elsewhere, Fethard Rangers secured only their second win of the campaign with a 4-1 triumph against Enniscorth­y Town. Division 3

Enniscorth­y United moved to the top of the Division 3 table but they had to settle for a point against Cushinstow­n on Sunday.

Barry Nolan got the goal for the table-toppers, with James Whelan hitting the back of the net for Cushintown.

Promotion-hopefuls Bunclody were also held to a draw as they shared six goals away to Raheen. Rory O’Brien, Dwayne Smith and John Breen scored for the visitors, with Peter Finn and Shane Whelan (two) replying for Raheen.

Oylegate ran out 4-2 winners against bottom side Caim United, with Barry Dunne, Alan Quigley and Lee Kehoe (two) getting their goals, and Ballymurn won 3-1 away to New Ross Celtic thanks to goals from Eoghan Kehoe, T.J. Parle and Shane Whelan. Division 3A

Wexford Albion won the Division 3A title with a resounding 8-0 win over Wexford Celtic on Sunday (see focus match).

On Friday a Jamie St. Ledger goal secured promotion for Rosbercon as they earned a 1-1 draw against Shelburne. James Connick got the Shelburne goal.

Elsewhere, Bridge Rovers beat Curracloe 2-1 in a local derby and Camolin overcame Castledock­rell 4-0, while Campile collected three points without kicking a ball as they were handed a walkover from Courtown Hibs. Division 4

Leaders Carne FC had to be content with a point on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by St. Leonards, with Leigh Aylward scoring from the penalty spot and Eamonn Whitty getting the goal for the saints.

All Blacks and Rosslare Rangers both moved to within a point of the pacesetter­s wtih 2-0 wins over Gorey Celtic and Moyne Rangers respective­ly. Jimmy Staples and David Moore got the goals for All Blacks, with Tyrone O’Reilly and Seán Stewart hitting the back of the net for Rosslare Rangers. Division 4A

Tombrack took the spoils after a Division 4A goal-fest on Sunday, coming out on top 7-5 against Rosslare Port.

The eventual winners trailed 5-4 at the break but eventually prevailed thanks to goals from Eoghan Murphy (two), Kevin Kenny, John Ryan, Mick Kelly, Jamie Murphy and James Kehoe.

Michael Clinton bagged a double for Shamrock Rovers but it wasn’t enough for his side to take anything from the game as they lost out 3-2 to local rivals Enniscorth­y Town. Division 5

Castledock­rell secured a handsome victory on Sunday, seeing off Stoney Rovers 5-0 with goals from Paddy Kavanagh, Adam Harte, Killian Ronan and Ned Hendrick (two). Cushinstow­n also ran out comfortabl­e winners, with Aaron Ryan (two), Adam Bookle and John Martin Carroll getting their goals in a 4-0 win over Camolin.
