PAUL’S SACRIFICE HELPS TWO WORTHY CHARITIES
NWSPCA volunteer Paul Tobin recently paid a rare visit to the hairdresser in Gorey for two very good reasons.
He decided to get his hair cut after a very long time, and as this radical change of image was to be a big deal, Paul said he would like to mark the occasion by serving two charities at once.
He invited sponsorship to go to the NWSPCA, while the Rapunzel Foundation would get his lengthy ponytail. The charity makes wigs and hair pieces for children and adults who suffer from cancer or alopecia.
Proprietor and stylist Rebecca Donnelly at Tallulah’s Hair and Beauty Salon, Main Street, Gorey volunteered her services, and she and her team made Paul and the NWSPCA feel very welcome.
Rebecca said that she has taken many donations for The Rapunzel Foundation before but this was her first time seeing two charities benefit from the one event. As Paul gets used to his suave new look, he was delighted to have raised €180 so far for the NWSPCA. APRIL is a busy month for one-off events in Movies@Gorey.
