KNIT AND NATTER
Knit and Natter Group meets every Monday night from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. in kitchen of Askamore Hall – knitting, crochet, needlework, using a sewing machine plus tea and a chat. Beginners and experts of any or all crafts all ages, all welcome.

A massive congratulations to Cliodhna O’Connell (Coolgreany HBC) and Eva Crean on their fantastic all-Ireland under-17 Doubles victory recently. The girls won their title in style with a 21-2 21-1 score over their Tyrone opponents.
TIDY TOWNS
2km clean-up in conjunction with Wexford co co is run in April and May. April is the ‘spring-clean month’ and we are asking all residents to come out and do a clean-up of their roads. Bags and gloves are available from Maureen, remember the best kept road is in with a chance to win a plaque.

MASS OF CHRISM – Each year Bishop Denis invites representatives of all the parishes of the Ferns diocese to join with him and the diocesan clergy for the Mass of Chrism, the annual occasion for the blessing of holy oils and the renewal of priestly vows. This year’s Mass takes place on Tuesday, April 11, at 8 p.m. in St Aidan’s Cathedral Enniscorthy. GAA CLUB NOTES
Following their tremendous success in the Leinster league matches with two wins, the under-15s qualified for their Leinster league final last Sunday. Their opposition on the day were Sallins. These young players came away with a fantastic victory to capture the title on the day on a terrific score line of 5-11 to – 09.
Castle Craan Gales had success against Hollow Rovers on Sunday morning. The intermediate ladies had a great win over Duffry.
The annual under-12s indoor hurling tournament kindly sponsored by K & K Windows Ltd continues with more matches this weekend in the complex. All teams are getting plenty of match opportunities with great skill level on show. Thanks to all the teams for your support.

The March meeting of Monaseed ICA was held in Monaseed Hall on Wednesday, March 1. There were 21 members present. The president Olive Doyle welcomed everyone along to the meeting. Gwen Stewart gave to 30 minute exercise programme to the ladies which they enjoyed. Susan Nolan gave a lovely demonstration of floral arrangements and offered two of them for the raffle. The competition winners were Winnie Doyle and Lynn Cox. The raffle winners were Margaret Gilbert and Nuala Doyle.
The fees are due at this month’s meeting which is the AGM. The hostesses for April are Margaret Gilbert and Kathleen Kelly. The competition for April is the nicest Easter card. The April meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 8 p.m. in Monaseed Hall. New members welcome.

team of the week goes to the under-14 girls who have been playing very well in challenge games only to have their fixture game postponed last Thursday due to the weather. However, between football and camogie, these girls will be busy in the coming weeks.
The first under-12 boys fixture is on April 18 and the under-14 boys start on April 13, with the Wexford football feile on April 9.
Last weekend, the adult hurlers went down to Shamrocks by one point, while both the Adult B team and the minor footballers were given walkovers by Rapperees and Blackwater respectively. The minor hurlers were defeated by Rathnure on Sunday.
There was no jackpot winner in the lotto draw on the 27th. There was one match-three winner who gets €200. The numbers were 9, 12, 15 and 16. Next draw, for €6,300, takes place in Noels on April 10.
Work is finally starting on the all weather pitch at the hurling wall, plus the walking track which will surround both pitches. The job should be complete by the end of May.
