Awards shortlist out on Thursday

-

THE shortlist for Wexford’s much-anticipated Business Awards will be revealed online on Thursday (April 13). The list will also be published in next week’s edition of the Wexford People.

Sponsored by Morgan McKinley, the Judging Process will take place on Monday, April 24, with winners announced on May 26, the Gala Dinner.

More than 150 applications have been received this year. Unfortunately, this means that a number of companies and organisations will be disappointed not to be shortlisted and the Chamber said it wanted to thank those concerned for their time and interest.

The Business Awards continue to grow with more and more entries from across the region each year.

As the overall quality of award entries improves year-on-year, Wexford Chamber and Wexford County Council, together with the EPA and all sponsors of the event are eager to ensure that exceptional local companies get the recognition they deserve.

There are so many businesses in the area, from sole traders to large corporate organisations who are doing incredible work in their sectors.

Outstanding stories and successes within many of these businesses could lead them to a prestigious award at this year’s Gala Event. The 2017 trophies have once again been designed and produced by Kent Stainless.

Entries were submitted by a wide variety of companies, organisations, institutions and agencies from across Wexford and include many of our best-loved brands.

The Awards are nine years old this year and both Hector and Corner Boy are delighted to be part of what promises to be the biggest and liveliest celebration of business excellence and expertise in the south east.

Susan Murphy of MakeMyWill Solicitors said: ‘Entering the Wexford Business Awards gives you a chance to show off your business and tell everyone Look!! Here’s what I’ve done. This is my business, I’ve grown it from scratch and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far and want to show it off to my home county.’

‘ The Wexford business awards provides us with an opportunity to review our company and our operations.

‘It also allows us to compete and showcase our business across the county,’ said Ronan McGrath who has entered three categories. Over 500 guests were present for the eighth dinner at Clayton Whites in 2016.

Scurri – winner of the 2016 Overall Business of the Year Award also won the eCommerce and Social Media Award, the Innovation Award and were joint runner-up of the Logistics Award. Scurri provides a cloud based carrier management platform that integrates parcel carriers and merchants, quickly and cost effectively.
