CHURCH NOTES

HOLY WEEK and EASTER SERVICES – The final week of Lent leading up to Easter is called Holy Week. It begins with Palm Sunday and ends with Holy Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday. Holy Week includes Holy Thursday and Good Friday, which, together with Holy Saturday, are known as the Triduum. Please join Fr Richard and Fr Felix for the Services.

Craanford: Penance Service is included in the Vigil Mass of Palm Sunday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: Mass at 9.15 a.m. Holy Thursday: Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7.30 p.m. Adoration till 9 p.m. Good Friday: The Lord’s Passion 3 p.m. and Stations of the Cross at 7.30 p.m. Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil 9 p.m. Easter Day: Mass 10.30 a.m.

TROCAIRE BOXES – Please return your Trócaire Box on Good Friday or as soon as possible. You may put your donation in any envelope and mark it ‘Trocaire’ and return it to Craanford-Monaseed churches. If you can convert small coin to larger coin or notes this would help greatly in the counting of the collection. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful­ness and generosity.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION – Thank you to all who contribute­d to the church Gate Collection taken up last weekend in aid of Our Lady of Fatima Special School, Wexford which amounted to €158.22. Your support was much appreciate­d.

SPLIT THE POT

On March 31 the prize of €172 was won by Alice McCartan, Inch, a regular at the Bingo. Congratula­tions, Alice. The co-ordinating team for Friday, April 14, is Team 5: Mary Doyle and Elizabeth Kenny.

Bingo is played in Craanford hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. Bring a friend; enjoy a night out with a difference and who knows your luck could just be in. Nice money to be won every week.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions and well done to Caoimhe Kenny, who was one of seventeen successful young women competing for the Wexford Rose selection last weekend. Caoimhe represente­d herself and Craanford with great panache and style as an ambassador for the village. Congratula­tions to Ciaran Curran on his snowball win at bingo recently.

Congratula­tions to Margaret Doyle, Ballydarra­gh, who arrived at a significan­t milestone in her life during the week. She has matured like a fine wine and is now one of the over-50s club.

Please keep your walking track, indoor complex, GAA pitches and community field tidy, bring home your own rubbish Let’s have pride in our Craanford facilities.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Craanford Active Retirement will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, April 19, in Craanford Community Centre at 2 p.m. The March Raffle was won by Kathleen Kelly and Jane Gilbert. Tea for April will be hosted by Bridie McDonald and Lily Sullivan. Anyone interested in joining our group will be very welcome.

TAE-KWON-DO NEWS

Murphy’s Chos Tae-Kwon-do would like to congratula­te the following students on their AIMA.A Colour belt Promotion which took place recently in Craanford National School.

From our Craanford Aferschool Class: Brigid Whelan and Pat Kavanagh for receiving their orange belt and Ciaran Curran receiving his yellow belt. From our Monaseed After School Class: Receiving their orange belt, Ben Davis, Cormac Goodwin, Ethan Goodwin, George Doyle and Loui O’Halloran receiving his yellow belt.
