GMROI says jobs to grow by up to 13%
Grafton Merchanting ROI, owner of the Heiton Buckley store in Gorey, has said it expects to increase its staff numbers in the branch by between 10 and 13 per cent in the next two years.
The company announced recently it will increase its overall staff by 170 in that period to facilitate the expansion of its businesses.
Thirty roles will be filled in three new branches in Dublin, and the remaining 140 jobs will be created across existing stores.
‘New hires will vary by county, but in general we expect staff increases per county between 10 and 13 per cent,’ said a spokesperson for the company.
GMROI, which also owns the Chadwicks brand, has a Heiton Buckley branch in Gorey in the Knockmullen Retail Park.
The new roles will increase total employment at GMROI to 1,420 staff, an increase of almost 350 since 2014. GMROI currently employs 800 staff across Leinster, with pending store openings will increase GMROI’s branch network to 47 stores nationwide by the middle of this year.
Up to 100 of the 170 new roles will be created in 2017, with the balance in 2018.
The roles include senior management, specialist sales, operatives and administrative support and will be supported by extensive training and induction aimed at facilitating longer term career development within GMROI .
