The national launch of the Polska Éire Festival takes place in Gorey Library at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26. The opening of the Mikolajand­rzej Kalina exhibition will also take place, and will be officiated by His Excellency, Mr Ryszard Sarkowicz, Polish Ambassador to Ireland. Exhibition­s in Gorey Library and in the Market House run until June 9.

On Saturday, May 27, from 12 midday, artist Andrzej Kalina will hold a performanc­e event at the Civic Square. Afterwards the second part of the exhibition will open in the Market House.

Saturday Night Fever disco with Polish DJ Mad Luke is on Saturday, May 27, at the Loch gCarman Arms. Tickets are available from A Taste of Poland.

On Wednesday, May 30, there’s an Irish restaurant – Polish taste event at The Kitchen in Gorey. Tickets are available in the restaurant.

On Thursday, June 1, at 5 p.m. in Gorey Library, children will enjoy Polish story readings in English, arts and crafts.

A family picnic will be held in Gorey Town Park on Sunday, June 4, from midday, with food and craft stalls, games and attraction­s for the whole family. The grand finale will be a soccer game between Polish and Irish teams.
