POLISH WORKS WILL IMPRESS
THE 2017 national PolskaÉire Festival will be launched in Gorey on Friday, May 26, alongside the ‘MikolajAndrzejKalina’ exhibition by a top father-andson Polish artistic duo in Gorey Library and the Market House.
Officiating at the event will be His Excellency Ryszard Sarkowicz, the Polish Ambassador to Ireland, who will be accompanied by the deputy head of mission Piotr Rakowski and chairman of Gorey Municipal District Cllr Pip Breen.
Andrzej Kalina practises graphics, drawings and art action. His work can be seen in museums and galleries including the British Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Andrzej’s son Mikolaj is a graduate of the Warsaw Acade- my and a talented art photographer who draws attention to the problem of human loneliness in today’s world. Their exhibition will run until June 9.
On Saturday, May 27, from midday, Andrzej Kalina will give a public art performance at Civic Square followed by the official opening of the second part of the MikolaAndrzejKalina exhibition in the Market House, where a glass of wine will be served.
The week-long PolskaEire Festival in Gorey is a great opportunity for the Polish and Irish communities in County Wexford to meet and interact in a lighthearted and fun atmosphere, to share common interests and make new friends.
