Well done to the 70 runners who took part in the first race of the Donohoe Skoda summer league race series. The opening race of the series is the traditiona­l one-mile dash which saw fantastic times posted, with the first four home in under five minutes.

First across the line was Joe Lillis from S.B.R. in a time of 4.53, and first Slaney man home was Bobby Redmond in 5.03.

First lady home was Slaney Olympic’s Kelly Long in 5.57, and Mary Gorham was the first Slaney winner home in 5.59.

Spot prizes went to Sunday Nzerem and Theresa Cullen.

Many thanks to all the marshals, helpers and supporters. The next race is The Still 8k on June 23.

Stephanie McKenna was first home for the club in the Searlait Tywang Memorial half-marathon in Castlecome­r in a new P.B. time of 1.56.58. Also taking part from the club were Orla Doyle in 2.12.42 and Catherine Conroy-Breen in 2.27.14.

Donnie Colfer was the sole club member taking part in the 10k race and completed the event in 1.02.08. Well done to all.

Slaney Olympic’s Annemarie Doyle was third lady overall in the Aircon Mech 5k race held out the Old Dublin Road, Enniscorth­y, on Sunday. Full results are still pending.
