Festival set to be a rip-roaring success

- BY DAVID TUCKER

WITH just seven weeks to go until five of Ireland’s leading artists play the South East Country Music Festival 2017 in Killag, things are heating up and tickets are selling fast.

A stellar line up of artists including Nathan Carter, Jimmy Buckley, Mike Denver, Cliona Hagan and Lee Matthews will take to the stage for what is being dubbed ‘ the summer festival of the South East’ at the Bannow-Rathangan showgrounds, Killag from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 30.

This is the second year that Killag has played host to the South East Country Music Festival.

Given the tremendous success of this festival last year, which saw thousands of people in attendance, the committee are working towards another exceptional festival this year.

‘We received very positive feedback on the festival last year and decided to once again host the South East Country Music Festival in an effort to build upon last year’s success, interest and enjoyment,’ said Mattie Reville, chairman of the festival.

‘We have a fantastic line up of artists who are looking forward to entertaining the very excited country music fan base in Killag this year.

‘Festival-goers will enjoy easy access to and from the festival venue with am- ple on-site parking, a large dancefloor, in addition to a host of hospitality facilities that includes a full alcohol licence and food services.

‘Under 12s also go free with a paying adult,’ said Mr Reville.

Tickets are priced at €25 and are available at various outlets listed on www.southeastcountrymusicfestival.com, online at www.eventbrite.com with daily updates on www.facebook.com/ southeastcountrymusicfestival
