SHEDFEST

This year’s much anticipated Shedfest will be on Saturday, July 1, in the Arena, Buffers Alley. Shedfest is among the biggest and most popular festivals in the south east and this year’s line-up promises to be the best ever.

This year’s headline act will be Brave Giant. They are one of the hottest acts on the Irish music scene at the minute. Recent hits include ‘The Time I met the Devil’ and ‘Lordy, Lordy’ and have catapulted the Longford band to national prominence. The mixture of traditional and alternative rock is proving hugely popular and they are currently on a sellout tour of Ireland. Kobi, who hail from Wexford, should be familiar with music lovers throughout the county. They are regulars in the music venues with their blend of original and cover material. A band whose musical craft and high energy show will always get the crowd rocking. Waterford band No Hot Ashes have a huge repertoire of songs and genres. They will be playing on the outside stage which has proven to be a tremendous addition to Shedfest over the last couple of years. They will be followed by DJ Katie Quaid, who stole the show last year with her thumping set.

Tickets, €20, will be on sale this week from club Buffers Alley club members and also from the Book Café Gorey, Murt Walsh Mensware, Enniscorthy, The Wexford Arts Centre, Hammel’s Kilmuckridge, Lawless’s Monamolin and Porter’s Killenagh. This year you can also purchase tickets online at wexfordartscentre.ie. It is a strictly over-18s event and ID will be required to gain entry.

Shedfest will feature two stages, three live bands, late bar, taxi rank, DJ, barbecue and the longest bar in Ireland. There will be a taxi rank operating all night and bookings can be organised through Mick Stamp Taxis. Chef Kennedy will have his barbecue fired up and food will be served till midnight.

There will be competitions, promotions and gossip in the run up to Shedfest and details can be found on our Facebook page. We’d like to thank all Shedfesters for your continued support and hopefully we’ll make Shedfest eight one to remember. See you at Shedfest.
