FIRST RESPONDERS

What a great day for Craanford-Monaseed Cardiac First Responders went live at the Run For Ray event Sunday, July 9. After a year of hard work, meetings, organising, and training sessions, a group of local volunteers from CraanfordMonaseed are now linked into the National Ambulance Service. They support our community should someone experience chest pain, a stroke or collapse. Once 999 has been called these local volunteers will be quickly enroute to your home.

We started out with 18 volunteers, a couple needed to decline, and new members are always welcome. Next training will be in September, if you wish to secure a place, or have any questions, contact group CoOrdinator Noeleen Kenny, 087 4104707 or secretary Caroline Kavanagh, 085 2443574. We are also covering the Hollyfort area and could do with a few volunteers from there.

The sponsorship from local businesses has enabled us to go live and is very much appreciated, special thanks to J & K Autos Craanford, Craanford National school, Monaseed National School, Keith Bailey Haulage, Bailey Brothers Agri Contractors, Craanford parish, plus all anonymous donations and the generous Trudi Sinnott/ Gummerson family who kindly donated the AED.
