Talented duo best in Audi quattro Cup
JIMMY FLYNN and Fr. Tom Flynn were announced as the winners at the Audi Wexford quattro Cup, held on July 7 at Waterford Golf Club. The six highest ranking teams will progress to the national final of the amateur golf tournament, which will be held at Carton House, Co. Kildare, on September 13.
The pair swung to victory with a final score of 43 points, hitting 23 points on the back nine to finish ahead of Cathal Coughlan and David Bambrick who finished on 43 points, and Richard Daly and Lar Ryan who completed the course on 41 points.
A total of 116 golfers in 58 teams took part in the Audi Wexford heat. Regional heats are currently taking place across some of Ireland’s most prestigious golf courses to determine the national finalists, who will go on to represent Ireland at the world final in Mexico from December 1-5.
