Féile a fantastic success
THE JOHN West Féile na nGael handball was recently held in venues across Co.Wexford.
Wexford clubs were well represented with Castlebridge and Taghmon both entering two boys’ teams in the 60 x 30.
St. Joseph’s also entered two teams, one boys’ and one girls’ both playing 40 x 20, where they were joined by Taghmon who also entered one team in 40 x 20.
Our top Under-14s certainly provided us with great entertainment and displayed the highest of skills over the course of the weekend. Spectators, parents and club officials who had travelled from all over the country were not disappointed with the level of talent that was on display.
Castlebridge Handball Club share a love, passion and heritage with the Féile that spans over many years. And they certainly stood up to that task that faced them in their home court by taking the crown of 60 x 30 Division 2 winners, much to delight of the large home crowd.
Congratulations also to Tagh- mon Handball Club who took home the title of winners of the plate in 60 x 30 Division 2.
Wexford Juvenile players from both the 40 x 20 and 60 x 30 courts and from all divisions competed in the skills competition. Wexford did extremely well across all codes, producing six winners in total.
Taking the honours were Mark Doyle and Bobby Doyle, both Taghmon, Eamon Moran and Joshua Roche, both Castlebridge, and Ben Keeling and Jodie Keeling, both St. Joseph’s.
