Its that time of year again and just a reminder to everyone that the judging time for the the Tidy Towns Competitio­n is now here. Judging takes place during June, July and August. We would ask everyone again to make a special effort this year as we are still first in the county for the tidies centre. A huge thank you for your support in the past and your continued support, it is really appreciate­d.

FUN DAY

Ballycanew Ballyought­er Developmen­t Associatio­n present a fun day playing road bowls. Sunday, July 16: sign up at 1.30 at Goslins, Ballycanew, first ball 2 p.m. Team of four €40.

DEVELOPMEN­T ASSOCIATIO­N OPEN NIGHT

An informatio­n evening is being held on Tuesday the 18th july at 8 p.m. in the parish hall. We are currently looking for new members to progress with more projects for the benefit of the community. Come along have a chat and see what we have been working on to date.

ST PATRICK’S GAA CÚL CAMP

St Patrick’s Ballyought­er GAA Cúl Camp will take place again this year in Camolin from July 3 to July 7. Hurling and football Cúl Camp. Book online now. Register before May 31 to ensure gear delivery prior to the start date. Bookings after this date may result in gear not being available before the start date. Hope to see all the kids out for summer.

BALLYCANEW COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS

Volunteers can still join the Ballycanew Community First Responders. This is a very wordy cause. BCFR is a recently formed group where volunteers will be trained in using a defibrilla­tor and will attend people reporting cardiac arrest, stroke, choking or chest pain while an ambulance is being dispatched. In order for BCFR to progress we need more volunteers. It will work around your own commitment­s. If you would like more informatio­n please contact John at 087 0541408 or Karen at 087 9052238.

FERNS BOWLING CLUB

Every Wednesday in Ferns. We are the smallest club in the county. We only have six players every other club has 20. We hope to see people joining the club because if not the club will be gone.

MUSICAL TIME AGAIN IN RATHNURE.

There are only Two nights of Torn Dreams the Musical: Revamped left. Sunday and Monday, July 9 and 10, at 7.45 p.m. in Rathnure hall. And the box office is now open at 087 0687801 or 087 6954112.
