In aid of St Joseph’s NS, Kilmuckrid­ge. Get your envelope in any local shop, put in your two euro. Winner gets half the pot each week. Please support your local school. Boggans pub are running a bingo night every Wednesday with any money raised during the raffle going to St Joseph’s NS in Kilmuckrid­ge.

FORÓIGE YOUTH CLUB

We would like to set up a Foróige Youth Club in Kilmuckrid­ge for past primary school children in September 2017. If you are interested in finding out more informatio­n either on behalf of your child or if you would like to volunteer, an informatio­n meeting has been organised for Wednesday, July 19, in the KMH at 8 p.m. A representa­tive from Foróige will be in attendance at the meeting to answer any questions you may have. CAREER OPPORTUNIT­IES TRAINING SCHEME

COTS is a WWETB (formerly Fás) training centre located in Kilmuckrid­ge and is aimed at people in receipt of a social welfare payment between the ages of 18 and 35. We are offering the opportunit­y to complete a Level 5 in Retail Practice with additional subjects: payroll and book keeping. This is a fulltime course scheduled to commence in September 2017. We provide services to the community e.g. office services: photocopyi­ng, scanning, emailing, laminating, ring binding, typing (CVs, etc), internet access, printing (colour and B&W). ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The annual summer appeal church gate collection will be taken up at all masses in Kilmuckrid­ge on the weekend of July 22/23.

KILMUCKRID­GE ORGAN RESTORATIO­N

The Organ Restoratio­n Committee, in conjunctio­n with the Parish Finance Committee this week launches a fundraiser in the form of a raffle tickets €10. Thanks to our sponsors: Renault Ireland (overnight accommodat­ion and dinner in the Radisson Blu Hotel Dublin plus two tickets for the Late Late Show); Ormonde Hotel Kilkenny (Mid-week break and dinner for two people in Hotel Ormonde) and Hammels Centra Kilmuckrid­ge (Food Hamper value €150).

Draw to take place on August 25 in the Upton Court Hotel. Hopefully many parishione­rs and visitors will purchase a ticket in the coming weeks. Other possibilit­ies of supporting the project will be announced shortly. The restoratio­n/rebuild project has been awarded to Neilan and Creane Organ Builders, Wexford at a cost of €39,500 + 13.5% VAT inclusive of sponsorshi­p to the value of €4K by G Creane. Also, an anonymous donor has committed €3K the cost of adding an extra ‘stop’ (rank of pipes) which will greatly enhance the finished product. Tickets on sale after weekend masses till August 20. Hoping for widespread support for this parish heritage restoratio­n project.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Kilmuckrid­ge Tidy Towns meets every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Londis car park for the months of July and August. If you would like to lend a hand and help keep our village beautiful, please come along, or contact any member of the committee.

CÚL CAMP 2017

A record number of 163 boys and girls partipated in the Cúl Camp held in Buffers Alley last week and had a great time. This year the club won the Cúl Camp Prize. Eoin Morrissey (games developmen­t manager Wexford GAA coaching) presented David Hughes (chairman); Séamus Kavanagh (club coaching officer) and Michael Farrell (club school link co-ordinator) with the prize (bumper bag of training equipment which will be of immense value in getting our new club school link up and running in September). Appreciati­on to all the 12 coaches involved with our camp this year.

NOEL O’BRIEN TOURNAMENT

The club is planning to host the annual Noel O’Brien under-10 hurling Tournament on Saturday, August 12 (TBC). More details to follow.

FIXTURES

This week the club has a busy fixtures schedule with our Junior A hurlers travelling to Killurin on Friday night next 21st to play the local team Glynn-Barntown. Our minor hurles, joined with Monageer-Boolavogue play Hollow Rangers in Monageer tomorrow night Wednesday the 19th at 7.30. The under-14 hurlers have a home game on Thursday the 20th v the Faythe Harriers.
