Graham’s winning weekend
GRAHAM WHITMORE is certainly getting back towards his winning ways after a great weekend at the MSB Masters in Mondello with a third, first and fourth in his three recent races.
It could have ended in disaster though when he had a coming together with another rider and went down in qualifying on Saturday. They got the bike sorted though and had to start off in twelfth position on the grid in race one, and with great determination took it to third place.
In race two on Sunday morning everything went fantastically well as Graham took his first top step of the podium for 2017 and is hoping there will be many more to follow.

His brother, Thomas, was also out that weekend and took a fifth and two fourth places whilst also getting in practice for the Faugheen 50 road races which took place in Carrick-on-Suir.
He had a great weekend, placing 13th in Junior support and third in the Supertwins B race. He thanked his sponsors and family, Skylinks Telecoms, (Tony) Power’s of Gorey, (Shane) Ace Cladding, (Philip) Hudson Concrete and also Nicola Grannell, Princess Ava, Graham, Mam and Dad.
Sidecar action also saw a first podium for local team Mark Codd and Liam Gordon with a third place finish in race one on Saturday, and fourth and a fifth on Sunday.
Hhopefully he can win more in the next races at Mondello Park international race circuit in Naas, Co. Kildare. He would like to thank sponsors Kavanagh’s Garage, D.S.S. Graham Kennedy was also out for the Faugheen 50 road races in the Supersport 600 race and open 1,000 and grand final.
Unfortunately, he slid out in the first open race but secured an eighth in the 600 and a fifth place in the grand final on the BMW.
Simon Mythen travelled further afield with his driver, Denis Cusack, on the No. 23 MDR Suzuki F1 outfit to the Chimay Open in Belgium with fellow Irishmen Mick Donovan and Dave Butler on Mick’s newly built F2 outfit, also for the MDR team.
They qualified well for the races but unfortunately the guys in No. 23 blew two engines on a gruelling race track.
