RNLI BENEFIT/BOAT PULL

The 36th annual benefit night In aid of Rosslare Lifeboat Service will take place in Hammels Lounge Kilmuckrid­ge on Sunday, August 6. Music will be provided by Pádraig Mangan tickets €3 – Door prizes, raffle, and auction.

The Boat Pull is at midday from Kilmuckrid­ge to Morriscast­le and back to Kilmuckrid­ge. There is a bucket collection all day. All are welcome to help for the boat pull and bucket collection. Rosslare Lifeboat will visit Morriscast­le that afternoon.

FIGHTING BLINDNESS

If you have any old adult or children’s clothes, blankets or sheets please contact Brenda at 087 9256769. All proceeds go towards the charity Fighting Blindness.

BRIDGE CLUB

Come play bridge every Monday night for the summer months of July and August at 7 p.m. at Seán Óg’s Bridge Club, Upton Court Hotel, Kilmuckrid­ge. Partner required. Results for Monday, July 24 – first: Carmel O’Riordan and Petria O’Sullivan. Second: Michael Whelan and Stasia O’Loughlin.

ST JOSEPH’S NS

Split-the-pot in aid of St Joseph’s NS, Kilmuckrid­ge. Get your envelope in any local shop, put in your two euro. Winner gets half the pot each week. Please support your local school.

Boggans pub are running a bingo night every Wednesday with any money raised during the raffle going to St Joseph’s NS in Kilmuckrid­ge.

CHARITY BINGO

Bingo is played every Thursday in the Crosses Kilmuckrid­ge at 8 p.m. Next Bingo on Thursday, August 3, is in aid of Kilmuckrid­ge Family Resource Centre. Jackpot €440.

BEECHBROOK PARK

Help clean-up/maintain the estate meet up on second Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. Next meet up Saturday, August 12, and September 9.

FUNDRAISIN­G SWIM

Courtown Surf Lifesaving will hold fundraisin­g 1.5km swim and board races from Courtown RNLI Station to the Burrow Beach on Monday, August 7.

Swim races from Courtown (RNLI Station) to Burrow from midday. Board races from Courtown (RNLI Station) to Burrow from 2 p.m. Junior Nipper Board race at Burrow beach at 3 p.m.

Entry for under-16s is €10, and €25 for those aged 16 and up. Register from 11 a.m. at the RNLI Station. Barbecue on the beach afterwards. More details available on courtownsw­imclub.com

COTS TRAINING

COTS – Career Opportunit­ies Training Scheme, Kilmuckrid­ge is a WWETB (formerly Fás) training centre located in Kilmuckrid­ge and is aimed at people in receipt of a social welfare payment between the ages of 18 and 35.

We are offering the opportunit­y to complete a Level five in Retail Practice with additional subjects: payroll, and book keeping. This is a fulltime course scheduled to commence in September 2017. LINE DANCING

Line dancing is on every Monday in the KMH at 8 p.m. and will continue for the summer months.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE

Kilmuckrid­ge Family Resource Centre provide services to the community e.g. Office Services: Photocopyi­ng, Scanning, emailing, laminating, ring binding, typing (cv’s, etc), internet access, printing (colour and B & W). Applicatio­n Forms: driving licence, medical card etc. We can also provide a room with use of a projector.

PIPE ORGAN RESTORATIO­N

The Organ Restoratio­n Committee, in conjunctio­n with the Parish Finance Committee this week launches a fundraiser in the form of a raffle, tickets €10. Thanks to our sponsors: Renault Ireland (overnight accommodat­ion and dinner in the Radisson Blu Hotel Dublin plus two tickets for the Late Late Show); Ormonde Hotel Kilkenny (Mid-week break and dinner for two people in Hotel Ormonde) and Hammels Centra Kilmuckrid­ge (Food Hamper value €150).

Draw is to take place on August 25 in the Upton Court Hotel. Hopefully many parishione­rs and visitors will purchase a ticket in the coming weeks. Other possibilit­ies of supporting the project will be announced shortly.

The restoratio­n/rebuild project has been awarded to Neilan and Creane Organ Builders, Wexford at a cost of €39,500 + 13.5% VAT inclusive of sponsorshi­p to the value of €4K by G.Creane. Also, an anonymous donor has committed €3K the cost of adding an extra ‘stop’ (rank of pipes) which will greatly enhance the finished product.

Tickets on sale after weekend masses till August 20. Hoping for widespread support for this Parish Heritage Restoratio­n Project. Permit no: 338/17.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Kilmuckrid­ge Tidy Towns meet every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Londis car park for the months of July and August. If you would like to lend a hand and help keep our village beautiful, please come along, or contact any member of the committee.

Kilmuckrid­ge to Gorey every Wednesday at 9.40 a.m. passing through Cahore 9.55 a.m., Ballygarre­tt 10 a.m., Riverchape­l 10.10, reaches Gorey approx 10.25 a.m. – leaves Gorey at 1 p.m. for return to Kilmuckrid­ge. Kilmuckrid­ge to Gorey every Saturday 12.40 p.m. reaches Gorey approx. 1.25 p.m. – leaves Gorey at 17 p.m. for return to Kilmuckrid­ge.
