PARISH FIELD DAY

Our annual parish field day/ family fun day takes place on Sunday, August 6, and we appeal for your support. The fun will start at 2 p.m. We have all of the usual fun events lined up for the children, including bouncy castle, obstacle course, face painting, penalty kick, races, gold fish and much more.

There will also be ample opportunity for everyone to sit back with a cuppa and a delicious cake or indulge in one of your ‘5 a day’ with strawberries and cream. We are hoping our master bakers will supply us with some baked beauties to sell on the day and that all our volunteers will as usual, magically appear to help us with this main fundraiser in our year. Pamper up your pooch to enter our dog show, which is a huge attraction every year.

Our main raffle lines are currently on sale and will also be on sale outside Masses in the coming weeks. As usual we have great prizes, €500 in cash, a bike donated by Frank Kinsella, €200 worth of oil sponsored by Halnon Oils and a voucher for Halpin furniture. There are also many more opportunities to try your luck lined up for the day.

THE OLD CHURCH

We are delighted to report that great progress has been made on the Old Church and we will shortly be calling on all those who offered their services to assist us with the next stage. As a council we are committed to completing this huge project. We would like to thank the Castletown Development Committee for the great work they have done in the community. It is lovely to see such colour around the area and your work and effort is available for all to see & enjoy.
