ALZHEIMER TEA PARTY

A tea party in Aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland will be held on Sunday, August 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Thomas and Sorcha Kenny’s, The Crossroads, Rossminogu­e, Craanford. All proceeds from this will go towards a charity skydive on August 28. €10 per person for tea, coffee and all things sweet and nice.

VINTAGE THRESHING

The annual Vintage Threshing will be held in Matt Doyle’s, Carrigbeg on Sunday, August 20, in aid of friends of Gorey Hospital.

PLAYSCHOOL

Craanford-Monaseed Playschool summer camp will take place from August 8 to August 11 (cost €40)

Morning Club (school days only) available for school and playschool children, this fantastic service ensures children are looked after in a safe environmen­t and are walked to school – School children 8.15 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. €2, Playschool children 8.15 a.m. to 9 a.m. €3. BINGO

Bingo is played in Craanford Hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. Bring a friend; enjoy a night out with a difference and who knows your luck could just be in.

FINCH FITNESS

Keep fit classes continue in Craanford Sports Complex Mondays and Fridays at 9.15 a.m.

SPLIT-THE-POT

On July 21 the prize of €135 was won by, Kevin O’Sullivan, Ballinacoo­la, who purchased his entry in Cooney’s Pub. Thanks to Cooney’s for promoting the split-the-pot. Congratula­tions, Kevin. The co-ordinating team for Friday, August 4, is Team 5: Anne Marie O’Sullivan, Jacinta Donohoe and Oliver Murray.

Parish office Update – Craanford-Monaseed parish office is open each Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9.20 a.m. to 12.20 p.m. The office is located in Craanford Community Centre. Mass Cards are available and minimum mass stipend recommende­d is €5 (including card). There is also an opportunit­y to do the split-the-pot. PATRONS

Preparatio­ns are continuing for the upcoming Craanford Patron on Sunday, August 6. Mass will be celebrated in the cemetery, weather permitting, at 3 p.m. and this will be followed by Rosary and blessing of the graves in the cemetery. The usual collection to support the upkeep of the cemetery will be taken up as you enter. Your support is greatly appreciate­d.

It has been the practise in this parish to remember loved ones by name in the Patron Mass. Should you wish your loved ones mentioned in this way you may give in their names during the week. Envelopes to facilitate this are available at the back of the church and may be returned at any time during the coming week or via the Envelope Box next Sunday.

The Rossminogu­e Patron will take place on Wednesday, August 23, at 7.30 p.m. and the Mount St Benedict Patron will take place on Wednesday, August 16, at 7.30 p.m.

The Irish Heat Foundation will hold their annual church gate collection on August 12 and 13 in Craanford.
