Bal­ly­canew site up for auction with guide price of €200,000

A 22.5-acre non-res­i­den­tial holding at Bolin­ready, Bal­ly­canew, will go up for auction in the com­ing weeks with a guide price of around €200,000.

The land, lo­cated on the Watch House Hill, some 4km from Bal­ly­canew, will go un­der the ham­mer of auc­tion­eer David Quinn at the Quinn Prop­erty of­fice in Gorey on Fri­day, Septem­ber 22, at 3 p.m.

‘It’s a good piece of land, in a mix of tillage and grass,’ said David. ‘It has good ac­cess to the public road. We’re guid­ing it at be­tween €8,000 and €9,000 per acre.’

Quinn Prop­erty has two auc­tions on the sched­ule the fol­low­ing Tues­day, Septem­ber 26.

Cedar Lodge at Cour­town Demesne will be of­fered at auction at 2 p.m. in the Quinn Prop­erty of­fice, with a guide price of be­tween €75,000 and €80,000. David said that the four-bed­room bun­ga­low, which sits on a third of an acre, is in need of some up­grad­ing. It is lo­cated close to Cour­town Golf Course and has pedes­trian ac­cess to the beach.

Later that day at 4 p.m. in the Quinn Prop­erty Carnew of­fice, Abbey­gale House, Coolat­tin, Shil­le­lagh, will go un­der the ham­mer with a guide price of €200,000 to €220,000.

This Ge­or­gian pe­riod house lo­cated across from the en­trance to Coolat­tin House was for­merly part of the es­tate.

David said that the 3,230 sq.ft. house has five en suite bed­rooms and beau­ti­ful ma­ture gar­dens. ‘It re­tains a lot of its orig­i­nal fea­tures,’ he said.

The Bolin­ready, Bal­ly­canew site is a mix­ture of tillage and grass.
