Oys­ter Lane The­atre are let loose on mu­si­cal drama

Tick­ets are sell­ing like hot cakes for Oys­ter Lane The­atre Group’s pro­duc­tion of the Amer­i­can mu­si­cal drama ‘Foot­loose’ af­ter an on­line box of­fice was opened re­cently.

The ti­tle role of Ren McCor­mack, a chicago teen who has moved to the back­wards town of Bomont, is played by the tal­ented Nathan Fitz­patrick, re­turn­ing to the group af­ter a gap of nine years.

Play­ing against him in the role of Ariel Moore is the amaz­ing Ni­amh Bol­ger who has starred in sev­eral of Oys­ter Lane’s shows.

Re­cent AIMS win­ner Caro­line O’Con­nell will play Ren’s down­trod­den mother Ethel and OLTG stal­warts Ma­jella Lon­dra and Greg Cur­rid will take on the role of Ariel’s par­ents Vi and Rev­erend Shaw Moore.

The role of Ren’s hi­lar­i­ous best friend Wil­lard will be played by James Dobbs and Ariel’s three best friends will be rep­re­sented by the out­stand­ing trio of Elaine Mur­phy, Cather­ine Dev­ereux and Ceris Browne.

Other well-known mem­bers also re­turn­ing to the stage are Neal O’Leary (Cow­boy Bob), Paula Malone Carty (Lulu War­nicker) and Mar­ian O’Leary (Betty Blast). The cast is sup­ported by a tal­ented cho­rus com­prised of mem­bers old and new.

The di­rec­tor is Imelda McDon­agh with mu­si­cal di­rec­tor Pa­trick Clancy and chore­og­ra­pher Suzanne O’Leary.

‘Foot­loose’ which is the group’s 26th pro­duc­tion, will be pre­sented in Dun Mhuire The­atre from Oc­to­ber 23 to 28. Tick­ets are cur­rently avail­able on­line on www.oys­ter­lane. com, and on the group’s Face­book page. The Dun Mhuire box of­fice will open in mid-Oc­to­ber.
