Tickets are selling like hot cakes for Oyster Lane Theatre Group’s production of the American musical drama ‘Footloose’ after an online box office was opened recently.

The title role of Ren McCormack, a chicago teen who has moved to the backwards town of Bomont, is played by the talented Nathan Fitzpatrick, returning to the group after a gap of nine years.

Playing against him in the role of Ariel Moore is the amazing Niamh Bolger who has starred in several of Oyster Lane’s shows.

Recent AIMS winner Caroline O’Connell will play Ren’s downtrodden mother Ethel and OLTG stalwarts Majella Londra and Greg Currid will take on the role of Ariel’s parents Vi and Reverend Shaw Moore.

The role of Ren’s hilarious best friend Willard will be played by James Dobbs and Ariel’s three best friends will be represented by the outstanding trio of Elaine Murphy, Catherine Devereux and Ceris Browne.

Other well-known members also returning to the stage are Neal O’Leary (Cowboy Bob), Paula Malone Carty (Lulu Warnicker) and Marian O’Leary (Betty Blast). The cast is supported by a talented chorus comprised of members old and new.

The director is Imelda McDonagh with musical director Patrick Clancy and choreographer Suzanne O’Leary.

‘Footloose’ which is the group’s 26th production, will be presented in Dun Mhuire Theatre from October 23 to 28. Tickets are currently available online on www.oysterlane. com, and on the group’s Facebook page. The Dun Mhuire box office will open in mid-October.
