Wexford’s Nicola O’Hanlon co-founds new women’s lifestyle magazine, Life Plus

-

A NEW lifestyle women’s magazine - Life Plus - with a diverse range of topics including body positivity, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, real-life parenting, fashion, beauty and health and fitness has been set up by a Wexford woman and a colleague from Kildare. ‘We endeavour to meet women where they are at, to be inclusive, to encourage a new perspective, to inspire, to uplift and relate to our audience on a real, life level,’ said the co-founder and editor-in-chief Nicola O’Hanlon.

Nicola O’Hanlon has blogged for about five years and subsequently run a website dealing with mental health and addiction issues. Her work has been published in several recovery magazines, including Recovery Today, In Recovery Magazine, AfterPartyChat.com, Psychology Today and Reach Out Recovery to name but a few.

She has also had her work published in two feminist anthologies and a book of personal recovery stories. Born and raised in Wexford, she lives here with her two children, Christopher and Jessica. Her background is in healing through massage therapy, reflexology and sechiem energy healer and she recently became a qualified life coach. Audrey O’Neill, co-founder and managing director of Life Plus Magazine is based in Kildare. She is also the founder and manager of PS Model Management and Top Model Ireland. She is a successful trainer and mentor in the modelling world, and some of her clients have gone from never modelling before to achieving their dream as professional models, working in big shows such as the London and New York Fashion week and appearing in VOGUE.

Her background is in interior design and she has spent a lifetime renovating and decorating people’s homes, teaching design, writing for papers and appearing on television, before a near-fatal car accident made her take stock and redirect herself into a field of coaching and mentoring.

Audrey and Nicola met by chance and soon realised that they had a very similar philosophy on life and knew they wanted to work together in some capacity.

Together they created Life Plus Magazine, which has women writers from all over the country, and their first edition was a big success. Log on to www.lifeplus.ie for a free subscription.
