COMMUNITY ALERT AGM
The annual general meeting of Coolgreany Community Alert will take place in the May Byrne House this Thursday, October 19, at 8 p.m. The meeting will be addressed by Sergeant Brendan Moore Security Officer Garda Siochanna, and also Margaret Quinn Area Development Officer Muintir na Tire. Please make a big effort to attend this meeting.
THRESHING/VINTAGE DAY
A Threshing Vintage and Fun Day will be held at Tommy Tutty’s Farm, Glenogue, Ballyfad on next Sunday, October 22, starting at 2 p.m., with all proceeds being shared between: Inch Parish Church and Ballyfad School. There will be fun activities, Toy Exhibition, Live Dancing, bric-a-brac, Plant and Cake Sale, refreshments served, and a big raffle on the day. The organising committee are appealing for as much support as possible for two very worthy causes.
90TH BIRTHDAY
Congratulations to our Local Curate, Canon John Piert, St David’s Johnstown, who celebrated his 90th Birthday on Wednesday, October 11. On last Thursday night a very large group of parish members assembled at St David’s Church Johnstown for a Special Mass, and then to Arus Lorcáin Arklow for beautiful refreshments organised by the ladies committee, where a great night was had by all.
GOOD WISHES
We send good wishes to everyone in our locality who May not be well in Hospitals or are Convalesing at home, we wish them a speedy recovery to full health.
HANDBALL
Coolgreany Handball lotto now stands at €2,200, lotto tickets are available locally at €2, in Jim Shorts, Coolgreany post office, O’Rafferty’s and Liam Clare. A new prize format is now in now in place, with no match 3’s, No Bonus Numbers, instead there is now seven lucky Dips worth €30 each, and one seller’s prize. Congratulations to this week’s luckydip winner: DJ O’Connell. Your support is very much appreciated by the club.
OPEN DAY
An open day will be held in Gardiner Grain, Coolgreany, on Tuesday, November 17, as a thank you to all the loyal customers for their continued support. Refreshments and a barbecue will be served all day. All are welcome.
The next open day will be held in the Gorey branch on Thursday, October 26.
