Christmas party . . . be sure to delegate the responsibility

-

YOU’VE often heard of the saying ‘you can’t do everything’ and when it comes to Christmas parties never a truer phrase was said. Organising Christmas parties often causes more anger than happiness as many people usually have much to say but little to contribute in the line of working on preparing a party.

If you’re really serious then create a special committee to be entrusted with organising the Christmas party as it’s simply not fair when one person is left to do all the heavy lifting on their own. The more ideas the better and the more people pulling in the same direction is even better again.

A designated group can also consult with everyone and decide upon the best party plan to suit. It’s also important to note that the work place is usually an environment of varying ages and interests, so it pays to arrange the kind of big night to suit ALL tastes and interests, not just yours.

Also try and establish a basic theme for your Christmas party: is it a meal in a restaurant? Or would people prefer a few drinks and some snacks to unwind? These are just some of considerations you need to be aware of. So just remember to be democratic and organise your party as much as possible to suit everyone. Following this simple advice can transform an ordinary party into an extra ordinary one, but it pays to delegate decisions and ensure as many people as possible are in agreement. This is the best way to have a Happy Christmas party.
