Four properties snapped up in online auction

FOUR of the five properties from Wexford which were being auctioned off were snapped up in an online auction this month.

The two auction which was held by BidX1 was a mix of commercial, residentia­l and sites with more than 300 properties being auctioned off..

The most expensive property in Wexford being offered for auction was at 94 South Main Street, the former home of Colman Doyle Interiors, which had a guide price of €350,000.

However the building which is a town centre mixed use building comprises retail and office accommodat­ion failed to sell.

The most money realised at the auction for a Wexford property was €208,000 for the sale of four plots at Ballynahow­en, Wells, Gorey.

These plots had gone to auction with a guide price of between €115,000 and €125,000 and had housed three unfinished homes which require completion.

Bidding for the land opened at €120,000 and the majority of the bidding was done by four bidders over the course of 59 individual bids. The property was sold three hours after bidding started for €208,000.

A detached home at Corcannon, Inch, Gorey was the most sought after Wexford property with a total of 69 bids. The property which had a reserve of €15,000 eventually sold for €116,000, nearly three hours after bidding opened.

There were six main bidders for the property which is fire damaged.

There were 25 separate bids for a property at Rookery Lane in Ballyculla­ne which had a reserve range of between €70,000 and €80,000.

The detached semi-completed four bed home requires completion with gardens front and rear with off street parking.

Bidding opened at €75,000 at 9.40 a.m. before being sold for €116,000 at 12.55 p.m.

The majority of the bidding was done by three main bidders which the bidder who made the opening bid eventually securing the property.

The final Wexford property on offer was a 2.4 acre parcel of land at Ballygarre­tt, Craanford, Gorey with a partially built house on it which had a guide price of €35,000.

There was one bid on the property which was the guide price and the property sold for this.

In total over €40m was realised during the course of the two day auction.
